Why Occupational Therapy?

Pediatric occupational therapy focuses on helping your child develop the skills they need for daily activities, play, and social interactions. My goal is to promote independence, participation, and overall well-being in your child’s life by addressing these areas:

Play Skills: Encourage play as a critical way for children to learn and develop social, motor, and cognitive skills.

Gross Motor Skills: Address larger movements, such as swinging, skipping, jumping, and overall body coordination.

Cognitive Skills: Target problem-solving, attention, and memory to support learning and daily tasks.

Fine Motor Skills: Address hand-eye coordination and the small muscle movements of the hands for tasks like writing, buttoning clothes, and using utensils.

Sensory Processing: Assist children who have difficulty tolerating and processing sensory information (tags in clothes, seams in socks, various food textures) which can affect their regulation and their ability to participate in activities.

Self-Care Skills: Support independence by providing strategies in daily activities like dressing, grooming, eating, and toileting.
